I saw a sermon, that reminded me of the sacrifice He made for me. It emphasised the biliefs I have and left a strong devotion in my mind not to stop praising and worship the Lord Almighty at all times.

I find it amazing that there has been so much controversy over such a profound subject. The fact is, Mel Gibson went against the norm by producing a film that dealt with the crucifiction. Surely, had they known, Hollywood would have done likewise, had they known 400,000,000 would have been profited from the theaters alone! I beleive we are in the last days, and God is extending his grace and mercy to a once God-fearing nation. Yes, there may be some "special effects" that are present in this film, but the fact is, according to scripture, Jesus was beaton so cruely that his flesh was literally ripped from his frame, and inner organs exposed. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. Jesus blood was sinless, because he was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and God was His Father, born of a virgin. He who knew no sin, became sin. Jesus knew the price was great, and He prayed, if it were possible, for God to let this cup pass. (speaking of the crucifiction He was about to go through) When he cried "My God, My God, why has thou forsaken me?" I believe God had to look away, or He would have to stop such cruely on His child. (What parent would let this happen to his child?) But because God loved us, he allowed Jesus to pay the price for our sins, to take the punishment of Eternal Damnation in a lake of fire, that was prepared for the Devil and his Angels. Speaking of these Angels, one third of Heavens Angels fell when Satan was cast out of Heaven. These Fallen Angels are now the demon forces that fight the plan of God. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against evil spirits" Angels; both good and evil, are not always seen, but they exist, none-the-less. I applaud the showing of the enemy in this film. I have never seen whith my eyes, but I have felt there presence. (both good and evil) Angels are real, they are all around (they encamp about those that fear the Lord) The showing of evil spirits has been one of the reasons some find this movie in error. I find this ironic, seeing that so many falsehoods are protrayed in films, and there is no problem presented.(so many demonic films have been made) But let somebody make a rendition of the evil spirits that actually exist, and out come the critics! Satan wanted to defeat God and His Son, but guess what? I have read the end of the book, and God is going to win!!!
What a terrible price had to be paid, and what awesome mercy, love, and grace. (truly amazing) He could have called ten thousand of heavenly angels to stop the agony, but it was love that held Jesus to the cross. In the end, it will take only one angel to bind Satan, but until that day we must fight the good fight of faith. Truly when He was on the cross, I was on his mind. The agape love of God is so amazing. To think He died for those that mocked Him and spat upon Him. Jesus did not die for good people. for there is not one person who is sinless, not one person good enough to enter Heaven by there good works. Without faith in calvary and confession of our sins, the Blood of the Lamb, that was slain from the foundation of the world cannot cover our sins. He was born to die, that I might live! Go to the Tomb of every other leader of every one besides Christ and You will find the remains, but Jesus walked out of the borrowed Tomb on the third day as He predicted. "I serve a risen saviour, He is in the world today, I know that He is risen, no matter what men may say, the hope of all who seek him, the help of all who find, nonother is so loving, so good and kind, He Lives! He Lives! Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me, along lifes narrow way! He lives, He lives, salvation to impart, You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart!" No wonder the Bible says to present to Him your bodies, which is your reasonable sacrifice, and to crucify the flesh daily, to let Him pick up His cross, and deny Himself. Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice at calvary, paid a price we could not pay, and we need to never lose site of God's love hanging on a cross. He is now seated at the right hand of the Father as our mediator. Thank God we have such a high priest that was tempted in all points, yet without sin. The only thing I can say in conclusion, is what is being said around the throne continually, HOLY, HOLY, HOLY.

I would have to agree with this point of veiw and very valid point. He (Christ took all of our sin, past present and future sin upon himself. Along with the feeling of total separation from the Father had to be the most painful experience ever undertaken by anyone. It was most definitely the most painful thing that anyone could ever experience. Can you (any of you ) amagine the pain of feeling the presents of God almighty leaving you in the manner that Christ our Lord, Savior and brother took for us. Not only does his shed blood cover our sin, but taking that sin upon himself was the utmost of sacrifices. We are called to take up our cross and follow him. Are any of us able to do this in a meaningful way? Are any of us willing to really lay down their life for total strangers, people who you never even knew. People that hate what you stand for, people that would just as soon see you suffer for your beliefs. People who have no desire to Love or to be Loved by the Father of creation. But he Loves us all so much that he would have taken all of the pain involved with the hugh amount of sin that consumes this world and the hearts of most people. In many cases even Christians. We say we Love but do you Love those who hate you, or do you think to yourself, how dare they. Or they don'yt know me, how can they feel the way they do? I know in my years as a Christian I have seen many things that show to me that true Love, that pure Love that can only come from a desire for it, asking for it and being empowered by a Love so pure and unrestricted that it can see beyond sin and the hatred that lives in the heart of mankind. Even Christians I have seen in many of them a real lack of the Love that God has for each of us. Do we really want to Love as God himself Loves. This was the Love that caused Christ to willingly put his life on the line for you and me. He knowing full well what he was about to go through, ask our Father in Heaven if there be any other way, than take this cup from me. But God knew that manknind even with such a profound expression of LOve would still miss for the most part this Love in action, and fewer would look to obtain it. It is more than Love for your family, for your brothers or sisters. More than the best we can do on our own. We all need to look at ourselves and ask, do I Love enough to put everything aside for a complete stranger. Someone that is so involved in sinful nature that they are considered to be unclean by most, and looked upon as the scum of the earth. Those are the people that Christ came to save. Do you or I reach out to those very people at all, let alone everyday. On the Cross was displayed the purest Love ever seem by mankind. But there are still those who deny him and deny our calling. "Pick up your cross and follow me" Those were the words of Our Brother and King. Will we? Will I? Will the Church put aside all that we see and look at Christ and keep our eyes upon Jesus. To use his example to all to be all that he asks of us. Ask God what he thinks. Yes it was a great movie. And it touched many lives. But did it do justice to the character of the one and only sacrifice that ever meant anything to this sinful world? Something to ponder yes?

"The Passion of the Christ" was without doubt the most powerful movie I have ever seen. Anyone who believes it to be anti-Semitic has to be looking for something that just isn't there. The fact remains that members of the Jewish nation (not ALL Jews) were, indeed, responsible for His death. That is an historical fact -- how does the person who believes this movie to be anti-Semitic want His crucifixion portrayed?

I went with a friend who was reluctant to attend, not having any idea that we would be brought to tears within minutes, and that I would spend the entire movie with tears in my eyes. I heard sniffling and crying from all areas of the audience. I happened to be seated by a very well-dressed black man whom I would guess was/is a minister. And he cried, possibly more than I! Mel Gibson, Catholic or not, has done a brilliant job of portraying the death of Christ!

I read someone's comment that you should not see the movie because of the violence and that you should just read the King James version of Christ's crucifixion. I would remind that person that the KJV "version" is brief and cannot possibly bring home just how horrible and violent His death actually was. This movie, with all its violence, goes beyond the KJV description and affects you deeply and profoundly. The KJV, which I am NOT criticizing in any way, is an "easy read" and probably will not bring you to tears, as does this movie.

I have never bought a movie on DVD, but when this one comes out, I surely will purchase it. I think everyone over the age of 12 (younger than that is too young to see this level of violence) should see the movie -- if it doesn't bring you closer to God, nothing will. It was, and is, an inspired movie!

I did see the movie. I was distracted by the obvious catholic influence such as the emphasis on Mary. I felt this stemmed from Catholic deification of Mary. Also, I noticed that Cassandra was portrayed in the movie. I don't know much about her but there is a statue of her at the Cross near Groom TX which is largely influenced by the Catholic church. This was a well done movie as far as Hollywood is concerned. Quality acting and authentic costuming etc. The music was excellent and brought forth emotion. However, I do believe that Mel Gibson's name carried a big portion of the interest in this movie, even among Christians. I do not believe we would have flocked to the movie if not for his name. How many saw The Gospel of John in theaters last fall? It was also a quality movie and the script was the as was written in the Bible - the book of John. Personally, I am much more interested in the way Christ lived than the way He died.
