How often do we take different areas of ministry lightly, all because they are not those like preaching the word of God from a pulpit, evangelism of the loss, or even praying with the sick and seeing them recover.

Said that as an intro to what I will now say. Every time I read one of your posting as it relates to protecting the integrity of this site I am amazed.

Why am I amazed? One would hardly, easily see and recognize that God could call and anoint persons to minister in the area of bringing lives together through friendships and romance as in the case of dating internet sites. However, as from time to time I see the passion with which you guard this environment, I am convinced that you are not only called, but also anointed and equipped to flow as a minister in this area.

That calling and anointing is depicted in your passion and diligence; the relentless way in which you keep the gate. Nannette I say to you, your approach is not the norm. We have grown to expect it so much from you, that we take it for granted. But it is not the norm.

I was privileged or unfortunate (depending on how one sees it) to receive a letter from an administrator of another Christian site, from another member soliciting money and help for them and their family. That letter was the first contact that the person made, and it came to me through the administrator. With out fail, in shock, I responded to the administrator questioning, how they could have been conveying such mail on the behalf of a member that clearly was not interested in friendships but money. Needles to say they did not respond.

Some of us take your ministry and the way you execute it for granted but on the behalf of those of us that are enlightened with spiritual insight, I say thank you for being faithful to what the Lord has called you to. I encourage you to continue to serve him in this area with distinction and passion. He, the Lord is taking note of the quality of your service.

^5 Nannette! It's better to err on the side of caution, and I'm sure most people are very appreciative of the work you and your administration does to protect us. If anyone's had a personal encounter with a scammer they'd know why it's important to take such cautious steps!! Thank you Nannette and Larry!!

I make no apologies for those I have deleted as scammers. So far not one of them has come back and questioned me on deleting them as a scammer. If they write to me after being removed and ask me to have their accounts reinstated, which most do not, I ask them to simply provide me with their United States phone number so I may call them about their account. Not one has ever replied after that.

Yes, I sneer at what these scammers do. I am sick of them wasting my time and your time and even worse laughing in the faces of those they scam. They hate and despise us and all they want is our money. They don't care who they hurt, feelings finances or anything.

They are evil, they are deceptive, and they dare to prey on the Children of God and to use all that is good about us in their favor, to scam us because we care about "orphaned children," because we want to travel to the U.S. for a "Christian convention" because we "need a job," and because we so desperately want to find a "Christian sweetheart" to love and cherish.

They have thousands of different ways to scam us in all flavors. And when one method is discovered, they try another.

They circumvent the IP system by using hidden IP's and when that no longer works, they use Proxies. It is never-ending.

They upload photos of innocent models. They steal comments written by other singles on other sites in order to make their profiles sound legitimate.

They use bulk mail applications with keywords to respond in bulk to those who take the bait. It is a big operation. Just write to one and you'll see they rarely ever answer your questions and their long, but ever so boring mails, are all about them - so obviously generic. If it's the sweetheart scam, by the 5th mail they will be madly in love and ready to come to the United States. They'll tell you they will pay for it themselves, but once you take the bait to say yes, please come, all of a sudden, they don't have the money, and would you please help them "my dearest love as I long to hold you in my arms."

There are many criteria I go by. It is not a hap-hazzard thing I do. It is time-consuming. It is tedious. There are many criteria I go by in weeding out the scammers. If I were to list them all here, it would only allow them to be even more sinister in their deceptions and scams.

Have innocent people been blocked from this site because of these scammers? Most certainly yes! I have blocked numerous IP addresses and numerous entire countries due to the prolific nature of these scammers. I am sorry for the innocent thrown out with the guilty. But I will protect the majority of members and I know God can find romance for those who are innocent, even without the use of this website.

God bless,
Nannette

It is good that you do your best to protect the safety of the folks who join, and that you are able to expose those who are scammers. I wonder though how sure are you of them? That someone rings from another country does not make hom/her a scammer. He/she could very well have gone abroad. I would go online from another country. It'snormal for me to do that. I consider your comments to be a ridicule. It's enough that you have exposed people. Do allow them to bow out gracefully without having to mock them. I don't believe your attitude promotes christian virtues. Lastly, I don't live in America (may be quite obvious since I don't refer to the place in the same way the natives do). This is exactly my point. People outside America won't necessarily know scammers based on the way in which they "speak". And I don't believe everyone speaks in the same way. Where there are various racial groups, one can reasonably expect that the language will be different. So perhaps, you might consider other reliable means of identifying scammers! Alot of Britons say "UK" and similarly there are otrhers who speak of England. Would you think there is something amiss??? Really, all I am saying is be nice even when you must bring scammers to our attention.
