You're lucky that you know what you want to do; I'm 54 and have asked God what he would like me to do besides being a loving housewife.
Botany, how about a part-time job at a florist, or your own business fixing up people's gardens? Then there's agricultural anaylysis, house sitting for plant lovers, green houses. Hope that helps.
Try getting help with written and verbal interviews; that's a bugbear for anyone.
Can you redo you thesis after explaining what happened; everyone deserves a second chance.

Lord, we know that you do not start anything that you are not able to finish. You brought this sister to the point of finishing her masters degree and you are able to open any door that you have purposed for her to go in. Give her endurance and give her patience to wait until the right door is open for her because that is the door that will lead her toward accomplishing your perfect will. Amen Be encouraged!

Here's my moan: things haven't been going too well recently. In a couple of weeks I finish a masters degree in botany, and was hoping to start a PhD, but I keep coming "a close second" in interviews, which isn't very reassuring. Fortunately I have a job... selling clothes in a department store part-time, which is better than a kick in the gob (just!). I really have no idea what I'm supposed to do next (I know what I want to do, but just can't get my foot in the door)... plus I maffed up my masters thesis; my supervisors didn't really supervise, and I was left to carry on alone. Oh and I just found out today that I forgot to include a chapter, heh heh. Just when I thought things couldn't get worse! I suppose they could though :)
Well anyway, I need guidance. And a bit of reassurance wouldn't go amiss. Opportunities would help... If God would poke His head through the clouds and give step-by-step instructions, that would be grand!
Whoever reads this, just ask for God to give me enough.
